Gerflor Delivers Healthy Outcomes

Gerflor answered the durability, maintenance and aesthetic brief that Phillips Smith Conwell Architects set when selecting flooring for the Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital. Previous experience with Gerflor provided confidence in the products as well as technical support.

The flooring needed to be durable to withstand the high traffic environment, spills and potential stains while being low maintenance, cleaned with ease and offering antibacterial properties,” architect Andrew Holmes said.

“There was no need for sealing or polishing and the products could be used in clinical areas as well as back of house. This results in a consistent cleaning regime throughout the hospital,” he added.

The 200 bed, regional, private hospital was developed by Ramsay Health Care and constructed on a greenfield site adjacent to the future Sunshine Coast Public Hospital. The facility incorporates six operating theatres along with day surgery, ICU, medical suites and imaging services.
